Wow, the Code Geass artbox is absolutely gorgeous, and incredibly well designed. The drama CD is really well done, too. And the manga has full-color artwork pages. And the DVD artwork is really clean. And, well, wow. <3 Only thing I can think of to make it better is a jewel case for the OST (I have a feeling the original Japanese OST was also... um... whatever that format is called), and a dustcover for the manga. I still would never want to pay Japanese DVD prices, but if this is what they mean by Japanese-quality products. *whistles* Let's just say I'm a very happy camper right now. ^___________^

[EDIT: Okay... Small problem. Disc 1 won't play on my DVD player. Disc 2 plays just fine, and disc 1 (and I assume disc 2) plays okay on my parents' player. Either way, if disc 2 works on mine and 1 doesn't, I can only assume that there was a problem on Bandai's part, so I'll call them tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement (and this time I'll be specific, to avoid the problems I had getting my GitS disc replaced).]

[EDIT 2: OKay, after looking at a thread, broodwars put it perfectly: "There is no reason after all the effort you can see in this release that it would come out like this." Seriously.]

[EDIT 3: There are some nice, candid interviews with the Geass American VAs on the Bandai Ent. website, and I have to say I'm kind of wishing they included these on the DVDs too.]

[EDIT 4: Pictures of the (faulty) shininess]

Oh, yours has the problem? I've been hearing people complaining about the defective discs, so I put off my purchase of the boxset until later. I think it's another "first batch" defectiveness issue.

Yeah, that's my guess. I got an e-mail from Right Stuf a while ago about the errors, but I just assumed the delay in shipment from Bandai to Right Stuf was because of them fixing these problems. I also thought the errors had to do with something about bad subtitles, but I can't remember.

Speaking of defective discs, one of your Outlaw Star discs was messed up before I even got to touch it. :( Fortunately, it's one of the parts to the series I owned myself, so I can get around it, but I figure you oughta know.

*sigh* Which one was it that was defective? What's wrong with it? And are there any other discs that are defective? It's a Bandai release, so I'm a little annoyed, but I'll try to replace it when I get it back. And keep the fansubs.

The first disc of the second third, so like, disc 3 I guess. I put it in the DVD player and it was having some serious issues. Like, blocky stuff and freezing and choppy voices. :(
