Hello, everyone! My name is Nastassja, and as I write this (in March '08) I am 22 years old. I currently attend the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, studying some mix of Japanese, computer science, and linguistics. I hope to graduate before I'm 25, but with my class-passing rate that might not happen... ><; Eventually I'd like to get my Ph.D. and become a college professor, but of what I'm not sure.
I currently live with my dad and step-mom, but I also have a step/half-sister (long story) who's my age, a half-sister who's 7.5 years younger than me, an unborn half-brother, my mom, and my step-dad. Since my mom was born and raised in Germany, I'm actually a dual citizen! ^_^
I have a lot of interests (see below), but right now my biggest interests are anime/manga and Japanese language and culture. Some series that will always hold a really special place in my heart are Sailor Moon (in all its incarnations), Hikaru no Go, and NieA_7. I have yet to let enough time pass to know for sure, but Fullmetal Alchemist may be added to that list too.
My favorite English singer/band is Barenaked Ladies, and my favorite Japanese singer/band is Utada Hikaru.
~~When I grow up I'm going to marry Steve Conte and Kanno Youko is going to be our children's godmother. ^_^~~I changed my mind about marrying him. But his voice and music are still wonderful.
Finally... I love the moon and everything about it (which is reflected in my journal layout). I love the serenity I feel when I look up at that clear pearl in the cool night sky... I originally picked my username, tsukikage, thinking it meant moonlight, and then I learned that kage meant shadow, so I assumed that it actually meant moonshadow, but decided to keep it since that had become my identity. Well, turns out my name does indeed mean moonlight. Yay! (Doesn't it just figure that I'd finally figure this out after I've already taken three years of Japanese. ^_^;)
