Why I love my managers.
Jun. 26th, 2008 04:21 pmHi Nastassja,
The close looked great. Like I said Chris is probably the wrong person to learn
to close from. I will look at the schedule and see if there is an opportunity
for you to work Wed or Thursday night. Currently you are not on the schedule
for those days because of your obligations (I thought you had). [I had e-mailed him yesterday to let him know I didn't have MAS or MLC on the week of the 24th.] Our first month
of scheduling is always the hardest since the job requires you to know most of
the things about the store operation and we know that takes time. August you
will have plenty of hours (minus the 8th through the 18th) and starting in
September more of a focus on day hours is expected with the U starting up again
. You are doing great and we know you will get up to speed quickly. Btw the
floor cleaner was right next to the dish soap. It is pink too. It is in the
same type container only it says Floor instead of Dish.
If you feel comfortable closing it is going to be very easy to put you into
slots that are available. Vince loves to give up hours so we can ask him what
he doesn't want in July. We will get you the hours you need one way or another.
Focus Friday on learning from Chahn T. He'll show you the way to make
everything. He is a great trainer and a great worker.
See you Friday. Hope the trip home late was ok.
Thanks,
Jim
I get a little worried sometimes that praise I get is actually good-manager lip service to boost morale, but you know what? It makes me feel good, and makes me want to work all the harder. And the communication I've been getting with Jim and Laure has been excellent. I will say one thing I'm not looking forward to is going in to RMCF tomorrow after spending 2.5 hours at Chick-fil-A, especially since I won't be able to take a shower at the Rec or anything after my UDS shift.
I did some math today and figured out that I basically cut, break, bag, tie, and sticker one tray of rice krispy bars every half hour. Not sure what I can do with that number, though. ^^; Time myself and give myself a pat on the back for improvement?
Yeah, I had no clue that what you write on is called stationery, not stationary. Also, regarding hearty/hardy, I never exactly knew what "hearty" meant (I didn't even really know it was a word), but I knew what hardy meant, and I honestly thought that was what the phrase "a hardy (well, hearty) appetite" was related to.
Oh, so, today I get to work and start setting everything up for myself and hit "shuffle all songs" or whatever (I don't remember the exact English menu item), and no music came out of my speakers. And then I realized: I must have forgotten to put the batteries in my speakers after I charged them last night. ^^;
Okay, I can't think of anything else to say, so I'm gonna finish this cup of watermelon chunks and go read outside until heading over to MAS.

You scored 93% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 80% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!
Answers 5, 33, 37 were wrong, hehe. To be honest, I think I recognize the mistakes much easier when reading them than trying to create sentences using those commonly mistaken words. ^^

Date: 2008-06-27 02:46 am (UTC)I can't tell if they're counting the who(m) distinction as proper English still, but they really shouldn't be, as for all practical intents and purposes it's dropped out of the language.
