I know it's a while off, but we should think about where we want to hold part III. I love having you guys over at my place, but I don't want to monopolize the hosting/laziness privileges.

Dad keeps getting on me to do on-foot job hunting. Really, as long as I'm actually submitting applications and I'm focusing on places I have a chance at (I've kind of given up on the clerical stuff, at least for now), I don't see the problem. I can fight my laziness once I run out of online applications to submit.

I think you'll have much, much better odds of getting the job if you go over there, so they can attach a face to your name. Honestly, if I were hiring, I probably wouldn't even bother interviewing someone who hadn't come in to the place at least once.

I have a much smaller house and more people trying to use it, but if it's helpful I can see if we can do it over here. Really, though, don't do it as a favor to me; I don't mind making the trip, at least not compared to dealing with family/space issues here.

Yeah, but lots of places these days you go in and ask for an application, and they say "apply at our website", and I say "oh, okay" and leave. So I think it depends on the location.

But EVEN THOSE I'd say you should go in to, as much as possible, so that they've seen you. If possible, see if you can at least make some kind of contact with the manager. It really does get their attention.

Well, I have a great time at your place, and the only problem for me is my family, especially my grandmother, which is why I usually don't invite people over. Not to mention having something over at my place means both of you two driving a long way. Oh, and not to mention my parents not liking late-night visits. And "late" is defined as after 10:00 PM.

school doesn't start 'til monday; work is annoying. but i could never be happy in a job like that... you know me, I hate people. headed to DC thurs. but after i get back it's tons of work and chinese and the occasional day off... we can plan for a different afternoon to hit up the store. i think i'm off next thursday and friday too.
