So, they're making a Ghost in the Shell re-release with new CG, voice-acting, and remixed music. Looking at the before-and-after images they posted... I have to say I sort of like the old (bottom) better. I mean, it seems that what they did for the most part was make things darker and less contrastive, and honestly take some of the life out of the scenes. Like the first image: all the cars down below that indicate that there's actual life going on down below? Gone. (Although to be fair, this is only a single shot, so maybe we see "life" elsewhere in the cut. [EDIT: Nope, saw the whole cut in the trailer and there's road but no cars.]) And in the second scene with Aramaki, the only advantage to the new version is the better animation of the brain, while the detail in the woodwork (literally) is gone, and Aramaki himself is so cast in shadow that he might as well not be there. I dunno, I'm probably just being reactionary, and you know I'll be DLing this to check it out, even if the 6.1 audio will be wasted on my 2.0 speakers.

Anyways, I was granted a 5-close (close being around 11:30, says the manager) shift on 6/14, and I also expressed interest in a load of other open shifts that I probably woke up too late to get. (The e-mail was sent at 9:24, I sent my reply at 12:07, and there were only 7 shifts available.)
Jeane Thorne doesn't want me, at least not for clerical. Not that I'm really surprised, as I have zero experience, but I was told that temp work would be my best way to get experience. Well, I should still try other temp agencies. I think part of my problem is the lack of a B.A. - I think
idkrash already had one when he started at Adecco.
Man, the weather's gorgeous today. It's days like this that I can really live in the moment, without being able to conceive eternity if I try. I'm having trouble deciding what I should do today... Internet job hunting, "door-to-door" job hunting, Shakespeare, yard work, or just reading outside. I did tell Dad I would bundle those branches for him nearly a week ago, so I should probably make sure to do at least that today.
Oh yeah, went to bed at 10:30 last night, work up at about 11:30 (am). Whoops.
Finally, because I have the AMV playing in my head:
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how
