tsukikageMmmm, Basic 4... You know, I've basically forgotten that this cereal exists, I've been eating Special K with Red Berries so long. I still think I like SKwRB better, but this is a bit nostalgic, and still yummy. :)
Oooh, they're talking about Hikaru no Go now. :) Actually, this is a really interesting episode, and they're bringing up lots of points that never really get talked about.
Okay, I may have gotten up way later than I should have, but I need to take a shower and at least get some errands done today.
[EDIT: Actually, I think this *switches icons* icon is more appropriate, considering the podcast topic. ^_^; Unrelatedly, I actually was thinking about this as I watched it, but I think the reason ep. 8 of Doctor Who called 1,000,000,000,000 "a million milliion" is because they didn't want to confuse American viewers by calling it "a billion" (I know less than a year ago that would have confused me, as I thought only Germany used what I now know is called the long scale). Although actually, looking at the Wiki article Long and short scales, I now see that the UK uses the short scale exclusively in "mass media and official usage". Which makes me wonder if the populace still uses the long scale occasionally, like they sometimes use miles. Or is that just Canada?]

lugia222 is being mean and making me stop being so lazy, so here's the deal: once upon a time numbers went thousand, million, milliard, billion, billiard (long scale) instead of thousand, million,billion, trillion, quadrillion (short scale). The U.S. ditched this in the early 19th century, and the U.K. ditched it in 1974. Germany, among other countries, still uses the long scale.
