puttin' out feelers
May. 10th, 2008 09:33 pmJust putting out feelers here...
Is anyone interested in buying my Casio XD-GW9600 (i.e., Casio XD-GP9700 without the Japanese audio), and if so what would be the most you'd be willing to pay for it? (Man, I really wish there was a "going rate" on eBay, but there really isn't.)
Oh, and speaking of ARTR, when I was on the Princess Mononoke show last night I discovered that Neil Gaiman did the English script adaptation. Cool, huh?
I'm really excited for next week's recording (although I haven't actually heard back from them yet): Millenium Actress. Love, love, love. That movie.
[EDIT: On the topic of Japanese pitch accent, Against Marking Accent Locations in Japanese Textbooks. As soon as I saw her name (after reading the article) I felt like I recognized it, and then I went to her website and saw that she was one of the authors of Genki. Which (partly) explains why Genki doesn't have accent markings.]
[EDIT 2:
Didn't watch it all, but this was a nice bit of nostalgia:
I miss my childhood. ^_^;
Although I must say all the modern Nick hatred I see out there is pissing me off. I certainly liked the old Nick better, but really I think that's just because it was what I saw when I was a kid. I mean, you know how everyone always talks about how the music/TV shows/morality/whatever was so much better back in their day? I think that's all just a sort of cultural imprinting, mixed with a dash of a lack of discernment in youth that doesn't "backdate" once you get older. Plus, there was plenty of Nick shows I didn't like when I was younger, or now, like CatDog or Rocko's Modern Life.
Also, Doug was way better when it was a Nickelodeon property and not a Disney property. ^^;
P.S. ANIMORPHS!!! Man, I really gotta finish reading that series.]
