Okay, if I ask you if a sentence is grammatical, I want you to basically say "yes" or "no". Not tell me I should re-state it like this, or explain why it's wrong, or anything like that. That's useless to me. Just answer "yes" or "no", or if you need to maybe explain the situation in/interpretation for which you would say yes or no. How hard is that?
Yeah, I know I'm being a grouch, but I'm tired and have a long day ahead of me.
Gah, why can't I speak that dialect where "one" can only replace N's?

(P.S. This is all, of course, assuming I'm working on linguistics homework. If I'm writing a paper for TESL or whatever, I'm all for the prescriptivism and advice. Oh yeah, and for good measure, let me say that you need to be able to read my mind about why I'm asking you, because far be it from me to actually communicate.)
