50/50 on assignment 5, and I actually get all of those points since I turned it in totally on time. Fuck yeah.
Of course, I still haven't started assignment 6 which is due on Thursday, so I can't celebrate too much. Especially since I have a TESL test tomorrow. On the plus side, I have two 2 liter bottles of Pepsi at my disposal.
Today was also the last day of chadou until Fall '09. :( I let sensei record my bonryaku temae, since I actually feel moderately non-retarded in that ceremony at this point. Of course I still managed to make more mistakes than I should, like doing chasen-tooshi right away after receiving the dirty bowl back rather than just dumping the water out. However, at the end of class I felt kind of stupid for not having prepared anything for Sensei, like a thank you gift or something from all of us. :-/ Sensei also gave me a DVD with .mov files from the Ochakai which I'll be burning for everyone, and let us take any empty okashi boxes we wanted home (I took about 12 myself). I actually watched a bit of Laura, Eikoku, and my synchronized bonryaku temae since Sensei told us about a really funny blunder that sort of "happened to me" (read, my chasen had a mind of its own), and yeah, it was pretty funny to watch. I have to say, though, my watching everyone else to make sure that I was keeping in synch really looked from the outside like I just didn't know what I was doing and was watching everyone else to figure out what to do. It's kind of embarrassing, actually.
After chadou Tasha and I went to dinner at Sanford, and then caught the bus to her car so we could drive to United Noodles to pick up some goodies. Unfortunately, while I thought United Noodles was open until 9 or maybe 8, it turns out it closes at 7, and we got there at 7:30, so... Tasha drove me home (after a stop at Walgreens to get said Pepsi) and then she headed home herself.
And now I buckle down to studying.
Oh yeah, Alana got into Americorps and will be leaving for... California? In October? I think. Anyways, yay for her. :)
P.S. So glad I remembered to bring my own clean socks on the last day of class. That would've been kinda lame if I hadn't.
[EDIT: I just made myself a toasted cheddar and turkey sandwich, and man did I manage to cheese the bottom of the toaster. ^^;]
