Harajuku fashion fan? Not so much...
Jan. 3rd, 2008 08:00 amAlthough I admit that it's interesting to look at, I can't actually say that I like Harajuku fashion, especiall close-up. Most of it just has too much going on, like in the decora and kawaii style pics here.
Also, I really like to opening to this song - basically until she starts singing. Not that I hate it after she starts singing, but the opening is just really fun to listen to.
Mrr... I should run some errands today. I really don't want to, but it's either today or tomorrow. Mainly I need to go to the U and renew my locker, and go to the mall and buy my planner for next year. *kicks myself gently for not buying it while I was there, even though I know shopping around is a good thing* I could also stop by U.D.S. to sign up for fall shifts, but I don't know if my schedule is set enough that I won't just have to change it later... For one, in trying to sign up for classes that will allow me to put off my decision just a little bit longer, I'm trying to get into TESL 5401 for my TESL minor, but for some reason it's telling me I haven't met all the course prerequisites, which I have. So yeah, I left a message on the voice mail of the woman who teaches it, so hopefully I can get a permission number. 実は、来学期は日本語の授業を放棄して、来年
hampster_cowboyと取り直すつもり。その代わりに物理の授業来学期取りたいけど、今は空席が全然ないの。もし取れる時間に席が空いたらそれにすると思うんだけど...
あたし本当に取り直しばかり だな。
Le sigh... I'd really rather just stay home and read. ^_^;
I caught up in Bamboo Blade yesterday, so I'm waiting for more episodes to come out of that. Still watching Wolf's Rain, which I'm like a lot, but for some reason haven't actually been watching much of.
Patrick called me yesterday from a French bookstore asking for advice on manga to pick up, since they had a huge selection there. Unfortunately, I don't know much about shounen manga (he wasn't really interested in shoujo, even though he seems to like a fair number of shoujo anime), so I wasn't really able to help. I mean, if it were anime, I could help him out, but... Hopefully he found something he'll like.
Mmm... I might be coming down with something... Hopefully it's not what had Ann home from work without much voice yesterday.
Oooh, I think RightStuf is going to be shipping out volumes 1, 3-4, and 8-9 of HikaGo today (or possibly tomorrow). :) Volumes 2 and 12 are still on order from the manufacturer, which is especially understandable as volume 12, um, isn't being released until the 15th. I was kind of wondering if they were waiting to ship it all on the 15th, which, although it would be slightly disappointing, I wouldn't mind. I like RightStuf, and want them to save money where it's reasonable. But I'm definitely not complaining that they're deciding to ship it in two shipments. (I really do hope that they decide to wait to ship volume 2 with volume 12, even if it comes in well before, because as long as I have some of my shinies I'll be happy.)
[EDIT: In my procrastination, I'm watching "Rascals" from ST:TNG (the episode where, Picard, Keiko, Ro, and Guinan are turned into kids), and I must say, although I'm only 3 minutes in, from my memory of the episode I think I'm very much like Guinan - when faced with crappy situations I tend to look at them more as an adventure. "It'll work out somehow, so while we're waiting, let's at least enjoy ourselves." (That's not a quote from Guinan - just my own thoughts. I also really like how their uniforms shrunk perfectly with their bodies.
I wonder if they destroyed the Star Trek sets after they finished the series... I have a vague recollection that they did, but imagine how much they would fetch on eBay from a rich Trekkie.
And comm badges... How do they know whose badge's audio to activate? Even though the person using it says "X to Y" when using it, that audio comes through even before they say the Y. Maybe comm badges are psychic. ^_^ *looks up "comm badge" on Memory Alpha*]
