2008 resolutions
Jan. 2nd, 2008 09:48 amI really want to hold back with the resolutions this year, because even though they don't affect anyone but yourself, it does feel kind of like promises in that you shoudn't make them if you don't think you can keep them, and I have a really bad history with keeping my resolutions. (Well, I suppose in the end that's true for everyone.) Even the academic resolutions I'm restricting to very concrete things that I think will bring about the changes I'm aiming for.
But here are my resolutions:
- lights out by 11 every night (midnight if I go out to eat after M.A.S.), regardless of what assignments or tests are coming up - if I need to cut sleep, I'll just have to learn to get up early
- attend every class on time unless I am sick
- no computer use in the morning until I'm fully prepared for the day
- go swimming at the Rec at least once a week, with 30-60 minutes of actual swimming each time
- two personal resolutions that I won't list here
- have at least 20% of my income made in savings by the end of the year
I also have a goal of seriously preparing for and passing the JLPT 2kyuu, but I don't want to call that a resolution because in the end there are higher priorities in my life, and I don't want to have to break this resolution if circumstances get in the way.
