I have death on my mind pretty much all my waking hours again, and it's making my life pretty crappy. Makes it hard to study, hard to sleep, hard to enjoy myself... Whenever I'm like this I realize too that however I learn to deal with it and not be so stressed out, it's not going to change the outcome...
I kind of hope this has something to do with my evolutionary drive to stay alive, and after I start raising kids (either ones I passed my own genes to or adopted) the feeling will ease.
I also hope this is some divinity that exists' way of answering my prayers by prodding me to seek them more fully, rather than putting it off endlessly because I feel I'm too busy or what have you.

LJ hates me and won't let me see the results of my own poll (even the girls one, which I voted in), so we're gonna do this informally.
Please reply to this post with your opinion on goatees and the sexiness thereof, and whether you're a guy or a girl (since the person I'll be showing the results to doesn't know you guys).
For my part, I think they're okay, and can add to the cuteness of some guys (mainly if it adds to a geeky feel), but I don't think it MAKES someone hot, and in general I'm ambivalent.

'kay, so, Kuwahara-san in episode 10 of Bambino... He says "that was a joke" in the most serious tone I've ever heard. ^^;

ARASHI PVs make me laugh. And that's mostly at, not with.
My dog smells like... dog. And after petting him, so does my hand. *goes to wash it*

Oda-san + karaoke + TALKING! OMG!

Phobia: If you aren't already, see a counselor. It's not healthy to be worrying about death that much, and it's certainly not an evolutionary boon - it just makes you anxious.

Goatees: Eh. I've only seen one or two instances where a goatee made someone look better than he did without one, and the rest of the time it makes them look either pretentious or mildly evil to me. Maybe I watched too many cartoons with evil twins in them as a kid, I dunno.

I'm working on it, but all the Health Partners mental health locations within reasonable busing distance are booked quite far out... :-/ But now that I know I can't see someone at the clinic at the U, I guess I'll just have to make whatever appointment I can.

I don't see it as necessarily a medical problem. I'm the same as her in this, and I think it's pretty natural. The spectre of nonexistence should chill and haunt you or you really haven't thought about it all that much. Frankly, I don't think so many people would buy into ideas of an afterlife if the alternative wasn't so terrifying.

That's one way to think about it. Personally, I've thought about death a lot, and I don't have a problem with it. I figure I won't care once it actually happens (won't exist to care), so why waste what time I've got worrying about it? Even if I'm just a blip on the cosmic radar, I'm going to spend my little blip time as stress-free as possible.

My bias aside, what I meant by the phobia comment is when fear of something is enough to cause constant worry or panic attacks that interrupt daily life, then it's a problem. From what she's posted now and previously on the topic of her death phobia, that's what it sounds like to me. One woman's opinion. (shrug)
