Yay for a really nice, simple computer alarm! It can open any file at any given time, and allows for that time to be different every day of the week and easily turned on and off. Plus, you can set the snooze to different times, and you can set the alarm to any file, so I set it to a .m3u I just whipped up (presently consisting only of the NIKOPACHI album by Sakamoto Maaya, but which I hope to edit for maximum genki-ness soon). And since it just opens the file, it'll open whatever program is associated with it, so I don't even have to leave Winamp running. I will, however, have to make sure that the volume on my speakers and Winamp are sufficiently set, and that the program itself is running, before going to bed.
Now, I know from previous experience that this alone won't change whether I get up in the morning or not, but as my computer is a good... 50 feet?... from my bed, it should be helpful to have to walk that distance to turn the alarm off.

Wait... So, apparently it doesn't just OPEN FILES, since it won't open a .pdf I tried to test it out on. Strange.

Nastassja
apparently the alarm doesn't open .pdfs

Nastassja
my assumption was that it just OPENS FILES at given times

Patrick
Only YOU would say that
Me too
I wonder how it works
But the words
Well, the idea
Of being surprised that an ALARM doesn't open pdfs

Nastassja
laughs i highly doubt it, patrick

Patrick
Is pretty funny
"I CANNOT SEE MY PDF AT PRECISELY 7:13 AM, DISASTER"

Shit... I broke it now. ><; IT WAS WORKING, I SWEAR!
I don't get 'puters sometimes...

FIXED!
But for how long?
*decides to keep my actual alarm as a back-up*
