tsukikage: (DEATH NOTE - chair spinny!)

Aaaactually, I just checked the syllabus again, and since an A- starts at 230/270, or slightly over 85%... I got an A- on my test after all. w007age!
Anyways, dinner at Tanpopo was quite good. For some reason tsukemono (Japanese pickles) has become quite natsukashii for me since camp (well, I can't say for sure that I can use "natsukashii" for something that was only months ago, and only lasted two weeks...), so when Alana didn't want the tsukemono from her meal, I ate them for her and they made me quite happy. ^_^ But man, am I stuffed. ><;
P.S. Both my dad, Ann, and Alana dislike azuki (sweet red beans). They make me sad. :(

I'm not a big fan of azuki (though it can be tasty if done just right), but I love tsukemono, in particular takuan. One of the highlights of eating curry rice (to me) is getting to eat it with beni shouga (I didn't know the name for this one until I looked it up on wikipedia just now though). :D

Azuki can definitely be too sweet for me, but in small amounts I love it. This particular time I was eating it with ginger ice cream, which it went well with (although I wish the ice cream had more pieces of ginger in it).
What's beni shouga?

I'm not 100% sure they got the name right - beni shouga sounds kinda odd to me. Anyway, it's pickled red ginger. Not the pink stuff you get with sushi, but the bright red stuff that's often served with curry rice. See Wikipedia

azuki is called pat in korean, and they use it a lot, namely patbingsu, shaved ice with pat and fruit on type. and in all honestly, i'm not a huge fan of them myself.
