I NEED A SOLID STUDY BLOCK!!
Sep. 7th, 2007 11:25 pmStress! Insomnia!! Unwanted sleep deprivation!!!
By the way, work at Jamba sucked today. Maybe I shouldn't be joking about this during an actual strike, but sometimes I think we should go on strike until they decide to have more people working at any given time. Two students (one possibly being new), one full-timer who needs occasional breaks, and one manager who only really knows how to take orders and isn't supposed to be there anyway is not enough, especially during the lunch hour on the first week of school when everyone's all excited about Jamba and it's still warm outside. On top of that, some students didn't seem to have come in for their shifts. In the end, I stayed two hours extra, until 2. Although according to my pre-schedule-rearrangement work schedule I was supposed to work until 3, but now at least five times in the semester, including today (or, technically, yesterday), I have class from 2:30-3:20. But that's not the point, as according to the schedule on the door outside of the managers' office, someone had already signed up for the 12-3 shift that I dropped, and they never came in.
Damn fucking shit. Why did I sign up to work at 8:45 tomorrow? (Note that although I'm presently scheduled to work 9 hours a week, I'll be working a total of... *counts*... 24 hours this week (not counting last Monday before school started). I mean, at least during 20 of those hours I can study, but if you take out the time it takes me to open and close and work with customers and clean... I'll probably only be able to study for a total of 10 of those hours. I NEED A SOLID BREAK SO I CAN GET THIS ACADEMIC BALL ROLLING. *thanks God that I only have 100 minutes of class and no work on Monday*
In any case, I shall be refraining from signing up for any more shifts at the golf course this semester. Even if it is way less stressful than Jamba. Or the theater. And I get tips that are regularly quite nice.
*makes another attempt at clearing the lists and anxieties from my head and getting to sleep*
