I'm gonna be teaching at an ESL camp for a week. It's completely unpaid, but they pay for all of the lodging and most of the meals, and $700 of the airfare, so it's still a pretty sweet deal. More in my next entry on the topic.

I was supposed to be gone this whole week, but I got sick and was shipped back. Expect to see me on a lot; drop me a line when/if you know you'll be on. Pretty much any time of day is okay this week too, seeing as I'll have no class.

I've actually heard that Honolulu's kind of trashy, from my cousin in the Navy who's there on shore leave a lot. It's so packed that it tends to have a lot of the traditional "urban problems". And the beaches near the Navy base, at least, are swarming with low-rent hookers, so that does make you wonder about the rest of the town.

Wow... creepy. Although I've been told already that a lot of Hawai'i that isn't directly related to the tourism industry is kind of poor. Like a great big Ely or something. (Not that I don't love Ely.)
