I'm still withholding my final decision, but after a talk with my dad, it looks like I'll be going with c. sci., at least for undergrad. I explained to him that it would mean an extra year in school for me, but he didn't see that as a reason to not go with it. He also thinks that I should probably stay at the U rather than transfer over to MCTC, since that's the best way to ensure that everything will work out well back at the U, and since if I transferred I'd have to find a new job.

That being said, here is the most likely schedule (i.e., what I am currently signed up for) for fall semester:

Mondays:
10:10 - 11: CSCI 1901 lec
1:25 - 2:15: MATH 1272 lec
5:45 - 7:25: PHYS 1301W lec
7:35 - 8:25: PHYS 1301W dis

Tuesdays:
12:20 - 1:10: MATH 1272 dis
2:30 - 3:45: LING 3101W

Wednesdays:
10:10 - 11: CSCI 1901 lec
1:25 - 2:15: MATH 1272 lec
2:30 - 4:25: PHYS 1301W lab
5:45 - 7:25: PHYS 1301W lec

Thursdays:
10:10 - 12:05: CSCI 1901 lab
12:20 - 1:10: MATH 1272 dis
2:30 - 3:45: LING 3101W

Fridays:
10:10 - 11: CSCI 1901 lec
1:25 - 2:15: MATH 1272 lec

Well, it's long Wednesdays and longer Mondays, but the rest of the week ain't shabby at all. Plus, I'll be able to fit in some good swimming, me thinks. :)
I'm gonna have to make sure to go in to meet Meghan on Thursday to update my work schedule, though, especially as the math lecture digs into the only shift I have left besides the theater shift.

(Also, apparently me going with a "useful" major isn't enough to get Mom to stop bugging me about cutting my hair...)

Just be careful with your time, CS classes require a lot of labs and time to complete them. Don't over extend yourself, at least your first semester, until you get the swing of things.

I say this because Chris was in CS the first year we were dating and was always busy doing labs and things.

Budget some money out to purchase programming software so you don't have to live in CS computer labs.

Actually, the csci department has this nifty setup where you can access the lab computers from home, although it was all unix based and gave me a bit of trouble. In any case, you're totally right. After all, that was (one of) the reason(s) I failed 1901 the first time around.

How cool would it be if I was your physics TA? I'm sure it will never happen because there area hojillion physics labs and discussions, but you never know.

OMG, that would be cool! Let me know when you find out what section you're teaching.
