the great salmon steaming experiment
Jul. 3rd, 2007 07:05 pmI'm steaming rice with two thawed-ish fillets of salmon sitting in the steam basket. I really hope this turns out okay. ><; (I tried calling my dad as well as my mom for advice, but neither of them were available, and I guess I was too lazy to research much.)
[EDIT: I have got to stop forgetting to turn on the rice cooker after plugging it in. Now the fish has little fat bubbles all over it before it's really started cooking, and the rice could end up getting burnt. Grarrr...]
[EDIT 2: Yeah, so after scraping off the skin and under-skin fat (as usual) and the weird white fat bits, and mixing it with rice and adding soy sauce... It wasn't bad at all. Still, the best fish I don't need soy sauce or anything for, so I'll have to ask dad how to make it better when he comes home.]
