Why did all three of the last three DVD burns I attempted fail? The first two were of the same files, so I though they might be corrupted (although as I understand things that shouldn't make a difference) and tried a different set of files the third time. Once again, failed burn. To be specific, all three times it was an error in data verification. Rar...
It's so hard to decide what to bring with me in the morning, especially since I can only fit so much stuff in my bag. (Woe is me, I know.) But seriously, do I bring my book-book to read, my Japanese reader, my kanji flashcards...? I'm kinda thinking I should just leave a book at work, but then what would I do on the bus? *pouts*
Oh, I have two stories to tell you guys. First, Wednesday morning. I come in to work, and whoever closed on Tuesday left dirty dishes in the sink, didn't clean the roller grill so there were fat burns or whatever that I had to clean off before I opened, and coleslaw and Famous Dave's on the floor that hadn't been cleaned up. Rar.
Story two: So, I'm on the bus looking through my flashcards, and this woman (I think she was a woman, but it doesn't really matter) gets on the bus and says something like "it loos like you're trying to hand out cards", so I tell her no, they're just flashcards. From that point until she has to get on the bus... She was talking to me pretty much non-stop. No matter if I give her the shortest replies that wouldn't be considered completely rude, no matter if I try to give off the impression that I'm studying my cards really determinedly, no matter if I put on my headphones during a break in the conversation, that woman just kept on talking to me. I was like, lady, leave me alone. If there's a really interesting conversation going on, or if I'm just chatting with a friend I know, sure, I'll talk on the bus, but in general I like to limit my bus conversations to 3 or 4 minutes and then get back to relaxing in my own world. It didn't help that you tried to convince me that Japanese was THE hardest language to learn either. Maybe to an American, but I'd be quite suspicious about that.
Anyways. I need to get ready to head out the door.

P.S. I wrote four rows of 月影 (tsukikage) and five rows of 不思議遊戯 (Fushigi Yuugi - although in the series Fushigi is actually written in hiragana) yesterday. And I still remember how to write them. Yay for learning "important" kanji.

OH I feel your pain, as a transit rider myself. Usually on the bus, I want to sit and listen to my walkman, to the news.

Most people understand the "bus manners" that say headphones, or closed eyes, means "I'm not interested in conversation." But some people just don't get it, and unfortunately, very often the ones who just don't get it, are also the ones with something... not quite right, who will not just make ordinary conversation either but will sit and talk your ear off about their 4 past marriages or how aliens are running the city council or goodness knows what all. Or, why you Need To Find Jesus. Now.

*laughs* Of course, if you did find Jesus at that moment, they'd start talking to you about how great your new life is or something. But about the bit with something being not quite right, I honestly wondered if maybe this woman was a bit off, maybe with some personality disorder...

I’m all for sitting by yourself on the bus, since well, nobody has to annoy me and I won’t annoy anyone. I got told off yesterday for just accidentally touching someone’s elbow, so I just got up and left. The bus is just full of rude people, anyways.
