To my knowledge, Jesus is said to have washed the feet of all the disciples on an occasion not long before his crucifixion.

Hells no! That is the most shoujo space opera I've ever seen! They spend waaaaay more time talking and dealing with personal issues than blowing shit up. A lot of space opera actually might fall more into the shoujo category; Babylon 5 and the new BSG both have that kind of feel to em. Shonen space opera would be more like Star Wars or Halo; mostly based on physical pwnage.
