I know it's the army, but...
Mar. 27th, 2007 05:46 pmDear Nastassja:
Now that midterms are over and many of you are beginning to organize your summers, we want to let you know about an opportunity to test your leadership skills and gain resume building leadership training.
Known as the best leadership course in America, Leader's Training Course (LTC) is a four week program for current sophomores or those who have two to two and half years of college remaining. This course challenges you physically and mentally, while teaching you life long leadership skills. LTC is a paid program which pays all participants $800.00 while all other costs are paid for to include travel, uniforms, food and lodging. At the end of the course, Army ROTC will offer full tuition scholarships to the top rated students that complete it.
This is not basic training. LTC gives students hands on experience in leadership, problem solving, public speaking, and character evaluation. This experience manifests itself by accomplishing small and large group tasks, planning events, and leading others to accomplish them. You will also get the opportunity to rappel, participate in water survival training, get in better shape, and participate in probably the largest paint ball course you have ever experienced.
This is a great way to see if you have what it takes to become an Army Officer without any commitment. For more information about LTC, Army ROTC, and what being a leader in the Army is all about contact us at:

Thing is, I'm actually quite tempted. I've always been interested in participating in something sort of like bootcamp with absolutely no commitment. And I'm positive the full tuition scholarships, etc., are only for those who agree to enroll in ROTC (which I won't), but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a valuable experience.
Hmmm... I may actually call and ask a bit more about this.
P.S. Why is gmail not working?! Rarr!!! Is there anyone else for whom it isn't working?

Of course, there are a lot of *real* nerd types missing. Like language nerd, for one. But ah well, it was a fun quiz.]
