And.. OMFG. I'm done with my first draft of my German mini-essay. Again, here's the prompt:
Describe why you want to work at the Language Villages and, if hired, the goals you will set for yourself. Please answer in the target (foreign) language spoken at the Village to which you are applying. Answer in English only if you are applying for one of the English Language Villages or for a position that does not require a language other than English.

And the English version:
I love the study of foreign languages as well as linguistics, and in order to have the opportunity to study these throughout my lifetime I have decided to pursue a career in foreign language teaching. In addition, being a dual German/U.S. citizen with close family currently living in Germany, I have decided to attend a German university for graduate school. Besides getting an undergraduate minor in (teaching) English as a Second Language, working at Concordia Language Villages will allow me to reinforce my knowledge of German, and to gain valuable experience in immersion language teaching. If hired, I will join the villagers in pushing myself to strengthen my spoken abilities in German by only speaking in that language, and will observe the methods used by the language teachers to improve my own teaching abilities.

And finally, the German:
Ich liebe das Studium von Fremdsprachen, und auch von Sprachwissenschaft. Um diese Fächer meines ganzes Leben zu studieren, ich habe mich entschließt einen Beruf des Fremdsprachunterricht zu ergreifen. Außerdem, weil ich doppelte Staatsbürgerschaft habe, möchte ich eine Deutsche Hochschule für Aufbaustudien besuchen. Außer Englisch als Fremdsprache als Nebenfach studieren, wenn ich bei Waldsee arbeiten könnte, werde ich meine Deutschkentnisse verstärken, und wertvollige Erfahrung in die Immersion Erziehung bekommen. Wenn ich vermieten werden wird, werde ich mich zusammen mit den Dorfbewohner nur auf Deutsch sprechen, um mein Sprachfähigkeit ab zu verlangen, und, um meine eigene Lehrfähighkeit zu bessern, die Lehrmethode der Lehrer soweit wie möglich beobachten.

I'm tempted to submit this to a German community or two tonight, but I suppose I should at the very least go through each of my article and adjective endings on my own before I do that. If only I could print this thing out. :-/
