This is so... stupid. Basically it's a list of English mispronounciations. Now, I know I have plenty of my own "how dare language evolve" moments, especially regarding things like ask becoming aks and especially becoming ekspecially, but some of these seem to be plain wrong. The first r in February must not be pronounced as y? Parliament must be pronounced pahr-lyê-mênt?
Linguists on the f-list, what do you think?

I'm so tired... I think I've been in front of the computer too long today. (Been researching 月見 for a Japanese project.)

Is that the pseudonym for the person who wrote that?

It's certainly not his real name.

I don't know offhand whether the current Dr. Language stuff is written by the same fellow as it was back when I was in the habit of frequenting yourDictionary.com back in the day, but I've never found his articles and features particularly inspiring.

I didn't even make through the D's before decided that it was too overbearing. Dear whoever-wrote-that, Axel has something to say to you *points to icon*

Pronunciation of language has always bothered me. I live in Texas and do indeed have that hint of southern twang, even though I try my best to deny it. You can't help yourself sometimes, especially when around those who's voices are thickly laced with it. Here in the south, we tend to pronounce words differently than in the north. It all depends on regions, and because of that, I don't think it's right to have a specific way of how a word should be said.
