"gloss" in Japanese

Before I post this on linguistics/Japanese communities, does anyone know how to say "gloss" in Japanese in the linguistics sense of the word? Looking at Jim Breen's, I'm thinking 傍注/旁註 ((n) side notes; gloss) or, 注解/註解 ((n,vs) gloss; explanatory notes; annotation) but they don't have any example sentences, so...
