if you're talking about University of Chicago, then he's lucky. My friend just graduated from there, and he just hated it. They like to tell potential students that they have a real "quirky and interesting" student body, but really what that boils down to is a lot of people who think they know a lot but are really just talking out of their asses and don't realize it. Not to mention that the dorms are almost in the ghetto of south side Chicago (I visited there one time a couple years ago). Consider it a blessing in disguise.
