So, May term I'm thinking HIST 3429: Latin American History in Film and Text (which meets meets the liberal education requirements of Cultural Diversity Theme andHistorical Perspective Core), a three credit class which I'd take S/N. I'll hate it, but at least it'll only be three weeks long and will get two dumb themes out of the way.
Then for summer... Well, I'm looking at LING 5501: Introduction to Language Acquisition, but they haven't decided who's going to teach it yet and I'm scared to face Prof. Mulkern again. I also wonder if they'll have that thing again where you have to have at least junior standing to get into 5xxx or above ling classes. (However, they did say Prof. Mulkern is unlikely for that class.) So maybe some combination of CSCI 1902, MATH 1272, or BIOL 1009, PHYS 1301W. Of course, if I decide to do something really stupid and get a B.S. in c.sci. (setting my graduation date back God knows how far), I'll have to take PHYS 1302 which will make BIOL 1009 worthless.
A small part of me wants to take German 1001 and 1002, but I'm going to be strong and ignore that part of me.
May:
- HIST 3429: Latin American History in Film and Text (3 cr. (will be taken S/N) - Cultural Diversity Theme, Historical Perspective Core) / M-F 10:10 - 1:10 [87100] (05/22 - 06/09)
Summer:
- PHYS 1301W: Introductory Physics for Science and Engineering I (4 cr. - Physical Science/Lab Core, Writing Intensive) / M Tu W F 11:15 - 12:05, some dis/lab (05/22 - 08/18)
either:
- LING 5501: Introduction to Language Acquisition (3 cr.) / M W Th 2:30 - 4:25 [81120] (06/12 - 08/04)
or:
Damn it... I can't decide between MATH 1272 and CSCI 1902... I don't need MATH 1272 for the CSCI minor, but I need it for a course (CSCI 2011) I might use for the minor and that I need for ADMISSION to either the B.A. or the B.S. if I choose to go that way... On the other hand, if I don't decide to get a B.A. or B.S. in CSCI, I'd most definitely take CSCI 1902 which is also required for admission into the majors. And on top of all that, I don't have room for two out of CSCI 1902, MATH 1272, and CSCI 2011 in the fall semester, either. *bangs head on desk*
Oh, thank God... 1902 doesn't fit with the physics lab! So, MATH 1272 it is.
- MATH 1272 Calculus II (4 cr.) / M-F, some time (06/12 - 08/04)
I'll let whether I take LING or MATH fall to whether I can get in to LING.
Fall:
- LING 3101W: Languages of the World (3 cr. - International Perspect Theme, Social Science Core, Writing Intensive), TAUGHT BY PROF. STENSON WHOSE CLASS I HAVE NEVER TAKEN/FAILED! / Tu Th 2:30 - 3:45 [16555]
- JPN 3031/4005: Third Year Japanese (4/3 cr.) / some section... ^^;
- ALL 3433W: Traditional Japanese Literature in Translation (3 cr. - Literature Core, Writing Intensive) / W 11:15-12:05, F 10:10-12:05 [25194]
- blah... some other crap (maybe CSCI 1902?) - I still have two weeks before I need to register for fall so I can put this off until later
8 A.M. registration (and dinner), here I come!
