It really was the right decision to ask those people straight-out. It's really set my heart at ease.
I need to value my old friendships more than to assume that just because they're changing doesn't mean they're to be proclaimed dead. Memories, and history, are stronger than that. I need to learn that there's more than one kind of friendship, and these different friendships are all important in their own ways.
As for my newer friendships... That truth still stands. When I'm in doubt, I need to ask them straight-out, and not in cryptic side remarks.
