chapter 17 stuffses
Dec. 20th, 2005 11:36 amUgh... So, today I woke up five minutes after the test started. I called Patrick to ask him what I should do, and he said that I should go to the test A.S.A.P. and just try my best in the time left. So I did, but when I entered the test room, the proctor told me to go up to the Japanese office and ask Tazawa-sensei if I could take the test there. Well, I met EMETTO-sensei in the elevator, which embarassed me out of going to the office, so after she got out rather than following her to the office I took the elevator back to the third floor and walked back up the stairs and sat next to the (then locked) ALL reading room. Eventually she came out and found me and asked me for the course CDs, as well as whether I wanted to take the final or not, so I told her I did.
The test itself whent okay, including the listening comprehension. There was one part though where I particularly remember getting confused. The sentence was "Don't I have to comb my hair before meeting with the client?", and I translated it as 「おきゃくさんに会う前に、かみをとかさなくてはいけないでしょうか。」, but I'm not sure if that was right, partly because we studied nakute mo ii in this chapter, so I had suspicions that we were supposed to used that somehow. Still, the sentence was negative, so... And was I supposed to say いけませんか or いけないでしょうか, or something else? One of the Japanese T.A.s was sitting at the computer next to mine in the lab and I asked her, and she couldn't tell me the answer... (As in, she wasn't sure what it was, not she wasn't allowed to.)
By the time I finished the test EMETTO-sensei and Tazawa-sensei had both left to do the oral interviews, so put my late homework on Tazawa-sensei's desk and left for my oral interview. I was so nervous, especially since I hadn't been to any of the practice sessions and didn't really know what to expect until I talked to the people waiting outside the testing room that morning, and then even marginally so. I don't think I did too hot... *bites lip* We'll see, I guess.
So, what's left today? Turn in my integration paper for LASK, go to the ALL reading room and do some last-minutes studying for the chapter 17 dialog checks, go to the Japanese office and ask if I can make up the chapter 17 quizzes and dialog checks I missed, then maybe try to do Learning Project III for LASK and e-mail/print that. Then, go home and sleep for a while. After that, work on my Lead On! application which is due tomorrow and clean my room, then go back to sleep until spring semester. (I wish.)
Oh, and let's throw in some food eating, too. I'm starving. ><;
