作文が（下手に）出来た

tsukikageOkay, someone needs me how to type in Japanese on Macs. But I convinced the person on the PC to switch with me, so it's all good. Anyways, here's my composition. I'm going to turn it in as soon as I'm done typing this, but please tell me it didn't suck too much.
バンクーバー

２００４年のはる休みにカリフォーニアのレッディングとブリティシュ・コロンビアのバンクーバーにグレーハウンドで行った。一人で行くのが少しこわかったが、もう「大人」になったから、やってみたかった。
バンクーバーにホステルにとまった。きれいだし、２４時間あけているインターネット・カフェが近かったし、大好きだった。バンクーバーはミネアポリスより日本料理のレストランとすしやがたくさんあった。それから、ブリティシュ・コロンビア大学は日本のていえんやたたみのへやがあった。日本にきょうみがある人がここにしあわせに勉強出来ると思った。じつは、BC（I ran out of room here)大学の大学院に入って、バンクーバーにひっこしたい。
It's less than 320 characters, but I forgot that for grading purposes that's defined as getting passed the little line that says "320 letters", meaning spaces counts as letters (if that makes any sense).

Date: 2005-09-26 10:54 am (UTC)I think it's a rather recent OS. It has that taskbar thing on the bottom, and when you mouse over a window other than the active window, it rearranges the windows so you can pick which one you want.
Yeah, I'm totally not a Mac person. Of terminology, I know none.

Date: 2005-09-26 11:57 am (UTC)1. On the menu bar (the one on the top of the screen that has the apple logo in the left corner) there ought to be a mini US flag. Click it and it'll give you a couple of options. You'll want "Open International." This'll give you a new window, where you should have the options "Language," "Format", and "Input Menu". Click "Input Menu." You should have a menu with a bunch of check-boxes and languages. Check the boxes next to "Japanese Kana Palette," "Character Palette," "Kotoeri," "Romaji," "Hiragana," and "Katakana." (Romaji, Hiragana, and Katakana will be sub-headings under Kotoeri. Close the window.
2. As above but instead of using the flag thing, access the System Preferences (from the task bar or under the apple logo) and click "International". Click on "Input Menu" and go from there.
In either case, if you click the flag after all that, it should have headings reading "US," "Romaji," "Katakana" and "Hiragana". Switch over to whichever one and open up Word/Appleworks. When you type there should be a little bar along the bottom of the screen with whatever you've typed in it. Hitting space "translates" it into kanji and hitting enter puts it onto to the actual page.
