Hisaishi Joe does variations on a theme... across movies

Does anyone else think that the song "Haruka-na Tsuchi e" from Kaze no Tani no NAUSHIKA (Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind) sounds a lot like some songs from Kiki's Delivery service (e to... Majo no Takkyuubin?). In fact, I know I recognize parts of that tune, as I've never seen Nausicaä (though I seriously want to).
I wonder if I'll have enough money to go to Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits again this year... I really hope so. (And one year I will go for credit!)
