I wasn't granted a dorm. I guess I'm not freshman enough for them. There is a 2-person 2-bedroom super suite in Riverbend that I have on hold (I need to submit a $250 initial housing payment or financial aid extension agreement before I can actually sign up for it), and there's some 4-person 4-bedroom spaces available in University Village. Of course, both are ~ $1000 more a semester than the 2-person 1-bedroom dorm option I wanted. Academically, I need to live on campus. If I can't, I might just work for another semester.

Here are my options as they were available to me this morning:
Riverbend Commons
- one 2 Person - 2 Bedroom Super Suite (I called this morning and got this room reserved), $2,531 fall, $3,212 spring, $1,297 summer
- one 2 Person - Super Double (1 room, I think), $2,006 fall, $2,546, spring, not available summer
- (one?) 4 Person - 2 Bedroom Super Suite, 9.5 month, $2,163 fall, $2,745 spring, not available summer
University Village
- several 4-person, 4-bedroom, $2,620 fall, $3,325 spring, $1,343.00 summer

OMG, I'm a fidiot. Regular residence halls are $1,865 a semester for a double occupancy room and unavailable during the summer, meaning that the Super Double is only $822 more for the entire year, rather than $2013 more. Although I was beginning to warm up to the idea of having a room entirely to myself PLUS a shared living area (not to mention not having to change rooms once summer rolls around), my pocket would much appreciate the extra thousand dollars. I just hope that the room won't be snatched up already by the time I call on Monday.

I must say, though, I'm really excited at the prospect of being able to move in at the beginning of my last week of Japanese (RBC opens August 15th at 8 am). A whole week of classes in my new home before fall even starts!! And it'll make getting to work (assuming I get one that starts during rush or am able to switch to the August 13th P&T orientation) really easy. *jumps up and down giddily*

On the less pleasant side of things, Sam got the job (did I mention the job? probably not... it's some medical job). 60 hours a week, $12 an hour, sweet deal. Why is this a bad thing, you ask? Well she starts on Monday and she hasn't told Yaron yet. (2 weeks' notice, anyone?) On top of that, she's scheduled to work at the cart all day Saturday and Sunday, and she hasn't decided if she's going to come in or just not show up. Amy decided she's going to turn off her cell phone, and I'm considering following suit, but I don't think that I will. And speaking of Amy, although they were desperate for another manager-type-person (they only have one employee with a key), they turned her down. Also, Yaron's gonna have Laura start being the main worker at PoV, and he's gonna have Amy work at the cart from now on. I also heard something about Yaron having hired someone new? Well, I hope so. For his sake.

And back to good news, I have two job interviews scheduled in the next week, and was called on Thursday (shoulda checked the messages last night...) about scheduling an interview today. The first interview is with the office furniture, living room, etc., department at IKEA tomorrow at 2 pm. I was actually scheduled for an interview with the bedroom/children's department before office furniture called, but the office furniture hiring person told me that I needed to pick one department to interview with, and I decided I'd rather work in office furniture, etc., than bedroom/children's, so I cancelled my bedroom/children's interview. The second interview is with Paradigm, and it's Tuesday at 1 pm. I REALLY want this job. 40 hours a week for the first four weeks? SWEET! *reminds self that the last two of the four weeks will have to be careful ones* The interview I have yet to schedule is with the Coffman bookstore. Maybe I can do it tomorrow? If not, then hopefully Monday or Tuesday. That job makes me nervous, though... Even though I would ADORE working at the bookstore (the novels! the textbooks! the office supplies!), the potential to be laid off after rush makes me think I'll turn any offers down unless I can get a seriously positive estimate of the likelihood of me being kept on. (Then again... Maybe I can use it to supplement P&T if I don't get the Paradigm job?) Well, it's not like it's the only interview I can't take seriously (*cough*IKEA*cough*). Stupid matters-of-practicality.

On a final note, [livejournal.com profile] redclaw42 went with his dah (dad) and brother to put down his dog, Porsche (sp?). I wish there was something I could do to help him, but I suck at that sort of stuff... She was a sweet dog, if a bit jumpy.

And now, I go to sleep. Or something.

P.S. Let me know if you want my possible housing information, otherwise I'll post it once I know for sure where I'll be.
