My speakers are going... They can't handle quieter and quieter volumes without getting all fuzzy, and sometimes I lose one speaker or the other for a period of time. Patrick thinks it may be the cords. I've never understood why they make the cords like they do, totally exposed and so prone to bumping (and a subsequent loss of perfect contact). Maybe I should clip and strip them...

Also, I wanna learn to make screencaps and make myself a NieA_7 or Seikai no [...] mood theme.

I have problems with my sound from my computer because sometimes the little 1/8th" connector going into my soundcard comes loose or the metal makes contact with the case and picks up noise.

As far as screen caps, are you talking about from DVDs? Some DVD player software like Cyberlink will let you hit a certain key to save images while a DVD is playing. The other way is to rip the DVD and it gets complicated fast! You need to copy the DVD to your hard drive using something like DVDdecryptor. Then run it through DVD2AVI to produce a .d2v file. THen use either a program called VFAPI (old) or AVIsynth to open the .d2v in VirtualDub as if it is an AVI file. From there you can scrub through and copy frames to the clipboard which you can past into Photoshop or your whatever image editor you want to use.

It's simple if you do it all of the time, but way over-complex for a casual one time thing.

Either way, I need to stop and brag that I met Yoshitoshi ABe and he signed my NieA_7 artbook: http://www.aluminumstudios.com/lj/abe_autograph2.jpg :-P

As you can probably tell, I can't sleep again tonight -_-;

If you need help with screen shots IM me. Saving from DVD player software is probably the fastest and easiest.

I can't IM you when you're not online. ;) BTW, do you know of any websites that add Ruby? I'm trying to read your post, and it's not going to well. (The google translator is worthless without my own interpretation, of course, but again, the kanji...)

I couldn't live without this site. Choose the top-left option, past in unknown kanji (or words containing kanji) and it gives you the readings (in kana) along with meanings. It is OUTSTANDING!

If you want to take screencaps using a recent version of Windows Media Player, just hit ctrl + i. A save dialogue will come up. It helps to pause the video first :). You can use this to cap DVDs if you choose to play them through that program, which is nice. Otherwise, for DVDs I sometimes use PowerDVD, though you'll have to either have that program or find it on your own (it's not free).

Hmm... It's not working. I'll try upgrading the player when I get home tonight.

I'll help you with getting the pictures if you want. That's easy. But you'll need photoshop to resize the pics and stuff to a good quality
