Confederate Yankee’s Guide to Dealing with Hurricane Season
I particularly like the line "Screaming is funny in French.". Also:
"Throw all the crap you don’t want any more in the yard. If the storm surge comes you can avoid a dumping fee, and if it doesn’t, you can use all the debris to convince the guys from FEMA that it did and they’ll cut you a big, fat check."
So, I finally got off my ass and re-subscribed to Animerica. The first issue arrives, and I found out that it's the LAST issue! No more Animerica! (No, the quarterlies available at Borders and Waldenbooks doesn't count.) Maybe I should give in and subscribe to Newtype, but I honestly don't like the magazine as well, and it costs three times as much. I may subscribe to Shoujo Beat, however. At the very least, I'll buy the first volume and see what I think. (The preview volume didn't give me enough of an idea.)
I got the job I "interviewed" for today. I.e., I was a warm body related to a warm body who already works for them. I went in, filled out and signed some papers, gave them my birth certificate and drivers' permit to photocopy, and was told that since I was on vacation on August 15th I'd have to wait to be trained until September2nd.
Finally, during work Alana called me to say that Bruegger's called and they had my bag (which I've been calling about since I lost it two weeks ago!), and offered to pick it up for me, but I ended up picking it up myself, and now I HAVE MY BAG!!! Complete with checkbook, register, organizer, and mall badge. YAY!
