They're opening a German immersion school in the Twin Cities next year. 13 years too late.
I'm literally crying.

I'm mad at my parents for something kind've related to that. Milwaukee Public Schools has four different immersion schools. 3 elementaries(Spanish, German and French) and 1 big middle school/high school that the little kids feed into or kids who are new to language can go to it.

When I was little my parents argued over which one to send me to(One wanted German and one wanted Spanish) so they ended up not sending me so I had to start in the language program in middle school at the middle/high school that the others feed into!

Silly parents.

Thats good that they're doing it for future kids though. Immersion programs are great.

See, my mom was born and raised in Germany, I deeply "regret" (how can you regret something that you had no control over? easy, if you're me) my mom not making a greater effort to raise be to be bilingual. My parents tried at first, then gave up (partly because my dad's German was nil).
Having had a German immersion program in the area when I was young enough to become a native speaker would have been... Yeah.
