I now have a cell phone. I currently have the 600 whenever, unlimited nights and weekends, $39.99/month plan (so I wouldn't have to pay for the phone), but after three (?) days I can switch to the 60 whenever, 500 weekend, $19.99/month plan (or maybe the 300 whenever, unlimited weekend, $29.99/month? - I can't believe they charge 2/3 the price for 1/5 the minutes!).
Anyways, especially if I stick with the 60 whenever minutes plan, the phone will ONLY be for "emergency" communication. I've already given the numbers to my dad and Patrick, and if you feel you have reason to be able to call me on my cell, send me an e-mail or an AOL IM and I'll give it to you.

P.S. I may also get the unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile add-on, which is $6.99/month, in which case I'll give my cell number out to all T-Mobile users.

I never got why they would charge for 'Mobile-to-Mobile' calls, since all they have to pay for the power your using from the tower that can't == $6.99 a month [I think I could run a lamp on that (Okay so 1.4 blubs for a year on $6.99 )].

It might be nice to have a number that I'll know you're at, for things like when we try to hang out and somehow things don't work right and we never actually meet up.

P.S. I still have that DVD of yours.

I'm on T-Mobile, too, and I can attest that the mobile-to-mobile calling is awesome.

I have T-Mobile. I have the 300 whenever, unlimited weekends plan too, I so want to go up to the 600, unlimited nights and weekends plan but if I do I lose this grandfathered in thing I have that gives me mobile to mobile and unlimited text messaging for like 10 bucks and I don't know why but I want to keep that real bad. I don't even use text messaging anymore now that I have to use AIM through TZones cause the lady lied to me when I got my Nokia 3595 and told me AIM was built in (it's not, it's through TZones), but if I got a new phone that had that in it, I'd want unlimited text and they don't offer that anymore, only 1000 a month. Bah.

If it's for emergencies, I'd get the 300 whenever minutes one personally, cause what if in the emergency you needed to be on the phone more than 60 minutes? Just a thought.

Get the mobile to mobile minutes...

Hopefully you can use them. Good way to bolster your minutes. :) I have Verizon and love the mobile to mobile minute plan. Of course more people have Verizon so this works well for me. I'm able to call tons of people and it doesn't take away from my daytime minutes. Not that I don't have enough, I have 800. :) Anyway, just wanted to throw my 2 cents worth in! And to say, shoulda got Verizon. They are awesome!
