Oh man. I officially have an extremely cushy 35-ish-hour-a-week $8.25-an-hour job at the golf course on the Saint Paul campus. I work at two concession stands: the snack bar and the clubhouse. Both places basically sell candy and pop and hot dogs and chips. Honestly, in the first half of the day (while I was at the snack bar), I had to serve maybe 10 customers an hour. In the second half of the day... I served about 5 customers. Total. The rest of the time I spend listening to my iPod, exploring the clubhouse, hanging out with one of my co-workers if he came over from the snack bar on a golf cart to get something, writing, vacuuming because I had nothing else to do, and just sitting there and enjoying the laziness. Seriously, I don't know why we were even open - maybe it was a loss leader for the course as a whole? To bring in customers who would go to another course if we didn't have some snack options available. (Still, why do we have two concession stands?) In any case, I'm really not complaining, and according to the Z report, we actually made enough to cover my salary, not counting the upkeep costs and the cost for us to buy the food. The one thing I am worried about is that according to the Z report, we were supposed to have a lot more cash in the drawer than we did. Here's to hoping whoever was in the clubhouse for the first half of the day kept hitting cash instead of credit when there was a credit transaction.
Work again tomorrow from 9 am to 6:15 pm.
Ah, this is so much nicer than Jamba insanity. ^_^
P.S. Golf people leave insane tips. Like, 50% tips. And we're not even doing anything. Just handing them their bottled beverage out of the cooler. To be honest, Steve (my manager) told me we're actually not supposed to take tips, but when I told customers this, my co-worker said that she usually just goes ahead and accepts the tip. I dunno.
P.P.S. I'm totally gonna buy the first issue of Otaku USA (the description on the Anime Today podcast made it sound a lot cooler, and if I like it, probably subscribe. Yay, promising-looking magazines!
P.P.P.S. MegaTokyo strip 989 is love.
