Roommate and Dorm Room Blues

I found out today that Alana's decided to live away from home next year, probably in an apartment. This kind of scared (scared is a bit strong of a term, but) me, since that would mean I could live at home alone. Originally Dad decided to fund room and board for one of us so we wouldn't have to share the room, but now that wouldn't be an issue. I'm not desperate to move out, but it's really important to me to spend at least one year in a dorm - communal bathrooms and all. I'd love to spend all four years in the dorms, but I like to think of myself as mature enough to understand financial strains.
Anyways, I was thinking that I wouldn't say anything to my dad about this, and just quietly live at home for all of my college years (I'd rather put my income towards tuition than room and board), but I gave in and asked Dad about this. He said that rather than saying he would only pay room and board for one if the other stayed at home, he would only pay for one of us to live on campus. That makes me feel a bit better. I still think I'll stay at home for the rest of college, though.
It's kind of weird, though. The reason we have this set up is so that we won't have to share a room, but instead the one living on campus shares a room with a stranger. (I tell a lie - Alana's roommate moved out of her dorm room early in the semester, so she's had the room to herself since then.)
I need to clean this room. Maybe it'll help me to take my mind off this confusion.
