Today is turning out to be quite a good day. ^_^
This morning I got my top braces off and some of my bottom braces. That kinda depresses me, which apparently no-one understands. I got my top retainer today, since they made in in-house, but they're going to have my bottom mold sent off to a lab for my bottom retainer. A normal one! Seriously, my top retainer is weird - like a kind of plastic "glove" for my upper teeth. I think it's the same technology as invasalign. Since it fits quite snugly, I can't pop it in and out with my tongue - sad. :(
So now I only have eight braces left on my lower teeth, which are scheduled to be removed in three weeks. As it was my last time choosing colors, I made life a little difficult for the orthodontic assistant, and asked for a rainbow with clears on either end. Yellow, orange, red, blue, green, purple. Someone needs a little rainbow review... ^_^;
After that, Dad and I went out for breakfast. I was quite glad, since we didn't have any milk at home for cereal. We ended up going to the Minnehaha Grill, which was one of those little kitchen-like restaraunts with small red cups... I don't know how you call those. I had the Breakfast Roundup, which was two eggs, two strips of bacon, two sausages, two pancakes, and toast or an English muffin (I asked for un-toasted bread). As Dad and I sat there, Dad asked me about my plans regarding school. I brough up the possibility that had been flitting through my head of going to school in pace with my income, and he said that was impossible. Maybe it's not a good idea, but it's not impossible. ^^; I told him that I wasn't likely to do that though, but we continued our "fun" parent/child discussion for about a half hour, maybe longer.
When I got home I went back to bed. Surprise, surprise. Then I got up around 4 and went out to rake the backyard, as Dad had asked. I'm so slow at raking... I filled one bags and went inside to take a break. After sitting inside for about fifteen minutes, Dad came home and told me that he decided it was too early to rake, and told me to just bag whatever I had raked up already - about 3/4 of a bag. Not much, but in light of needing to rake it all over again later, I'm glad I didn't get very far.
OK, Semagic just crashed when I tried to spell check. THANK GOD I didn't lose my post. ^^;;;;;;;;;;; So, moving on.
I now have two wonderful things in my possession (word I used spell-check for - so I decided to look it up in the dictionary): a $1.75 31-day bus pass, and Tausend Dinge, über die ich mich mit meiner Freundin immer streite, translated from the original Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About. YAY! *goes off to stumble through 382 pages of German*
OH! OH OH OH! I almost forgot. Dad said that when I pay my own way through classes, he'll reimburse me for at least half of the tuition if I get a good grade. YAY! I know that part of the point was to take whatever financial burden off of my parents that I can, but you know what? I can always use that reimbursement towards future tuition if I lose hours, or whatever.
