Wow... The U of M has it's own blog system now. I really want to support it, but... I already have a DiaryLand carbon and an unused blogspot one. *thinks* Maybe a third carbon for the U's sake? Anyways, anyone with a U of MN id who wants one, I encourage you to sign up!

I used to try and keep two blogs up to date. I had a blogger blog first and then got a LJ when they stopped requiring you to have a LJ number from a current user to sign up. I was like "okay, I'll update them both with seperate content every day!" which of course I couldn't live up to. So I switched to the convenient one where I could keep track of all my friends very easily :)

I think keeping blogs with different content is just inconsiderate. It requires people who want to keep up with your life to visit multiple websites just to get the whole story. My original DiaryLand account is just all of my LJ posts with some of the html edited to account for lj-only code.

Everyone who "keeps up with my life" is no one I know in person (not that I know anyone in person anyway). I generally duplicate in both my LJ and Xanga blogs just because it's easier. On occasion I'll post something in one and not the other if it's only relevant to those who read that blog and not the other (i.e. something livejournal-specific).

Otherwise, I do it pretty much the same as you (just substitute Xanga for Diaryland).

I have friends both here and on Xanga so I want to update both to keep them up to speed on me (not that most people care really, but I digress....).

Thanks to the magic of copy and paste, it's not too hard to keep both updated. :-)

I love Blogspot. I have a blog there. But what I don't like about it is there is no community per se like there is here (and to a lesser extent on Xanga). I feel like I'd have to somehow go out and really advertise my blog there to get anyone to read it.

Cool. I wonder if a) a student I know of there has one and b) how I'd find out without asking (which I don't want to do).
