Ok, so here I am bugging various people to update (Nikko, poke your brother for me, will ya?), and I realized that maybe I should update as well. So here be my first update of this month of November, 2003.

*goes off to review where I left off*

Ah, good thing I did or I would've went off telling you about the Halloween party. BTW, Michi looked VERY cool. ^_^ *gives a thumbs-up to Michi-chan*

So so so, Halloween proper. You know that math test I was tearing my hair over? The one I didn't really study for? I whomped it. ^_^ To be honest, though, I "shouldn't" have done so well. All of the integration was of polynomials, with some e^Xs thrown in.

We had I think seven short questions, of which we had to answer three, and one long question. I breezed through everything except the last part of the long question. On that one we were supposed to find the area of a portion under the curve (entirely above the x-axis) and I kept on getting negative answers! Luckily Ms. Lambert (whose name I now FINALLY remember ><; ) let me stay after school to finish the test (it's my last period), so after about a half-hour of doing and re-doing I finally reached a positive anser.

No, Nastassja, ln 5 - 3 does NOT equal ln 2. ^^;

While I'm glad she let me stay after, it led to other problems. That morning Dad had told me to switch into my warmer jacket, so I did. Without realizing that my wallet, which has my bus card, was in my cooler jacket. And thus without grabbing it out of my pocket. And thus going to school without bus fare.

Smooth.

So I had called Ann during third period to ask if she could pick me up at two, and she said sure. However, when I found out that I had to stay after, I had no way of contacting her: I had to stay in the math room. I figured Ann didn't particularly want to come back and pick me up, though she would, so after I finished my test I decided to call Patrick. I "made a deal" with him that if he came to pick me up I'd hang out with him for a while.

He said that "[he thought he] could accept those terms, under the stipulation that [he had] to do some work on the computer for [Saturday]". (Why am I putting in all these brackets if it's a paraphrase anyway?) I told him that that would be fine, and that we could just swing by my house so I could pick up my study book to work on while he was working. After I finished I called Ann and told her what happened, , and that Patrick was going to pick me up. She seemed annoyed, but she also seemed to understand, I hope.

So he came and picked me up, then he started to drive to his place, then I reminded him that we needed to stop by mine, then we went back to my place, then I switched my stuff, then I asked if we could stop by B&N, then we did, then I picked up the Math and Writing study books, then we went to his place. WHEE!

Actually, though, Patrick never got to do the work he was supposed to, since he couldn't reach the person with his good video card. I felt really bad for him. He had to do this prep work before Saturday, which would only last maybe half an hour, but never got a hold of the guy. He HATED the idea of not doing what he said he'd do, even if it wasn't really his fault. He takes his responsibilities VERY seriously. (I could learn something from that... *grimaces*)

So, anyways, it was nice to get to spend some time with Pat, especially since it looks like we won't get to spend any time together today, as we originally planned.

So, SAT was yesterday. I bombed the first verbal section (only answered half of the questions), but I'm TOTALLY sure it was the experimental section, since they had some single-paragraph readings.

Did ok on the other sections. Totally forgot the tricks I learned for the analogies, besides some SIMPLE Joe Bloggs, so I mostly had to test from my knowledge. The methods I learned for the passages helped A LOT, considering my slow reading speed, but I should knock on wood until the scores arrive. Unfortunately, though, the 15-minute verbal had a passage that was a column-and-a-half, but only maybe 3 paragraphs, so... I should've actually read that passage, perhaps... There was one question from that passage that I didn't answer, 'cuz I ran out of time. I answered all other questions, though.

I did really well in math, I think. I got answers for everything, though I was left with crap for checking time. There was one question, though, where I kept on approaching it wrong, but eventually I realized what to do and did. As long as I didn't make any stupid mistakes, I should get an 800. Of course, I surely made stupid mistakes, so I won't get an 800, but it's nice to dream. *knocks on wood anyway*
