[DL] E = MC^2
Sep. 12th, 2003 12:21 pmA Guid to Programming in Turbo Pascal; ch. 2, ex. 11:
With the equation E = MC^2, Einstein predicted that energy could be produced from matter. If the average human hair weighs a tenth of a gram and the town of Woodsylvania uses 2e20 ergs of energy per day, find out how many hairs from Einstein's head would be required to supply the town with energy for a day (C = 3e10 cm/sec).
First of all, what is an erg? (I looked it up to be cm^*g/sec^2.) Secondly, I could do this easily on paper, but... Gah, this is nasty. I mean, sure, if I did it on paper I could figure out how to program it, but I don't WANNA! I wanna just go "typee, typee, testee, printey, doney". But NOOO, I have to be lazy and ask Mr. Kunz for help.
Good thing I did. We only had to go through excercise 11. Whee! Not only do I not have to do this stupid program, I can spend the rest of the day on the net. Take THAT, Einstein's hairs!
Got a 15/22 on my "Flight" journal. Whee...
Have the last 200 or more pages of Native Son to read by Monday, plus There Eyes Were Watching God by Thursday.
And the bell rings...
