So, I got up early this morning so Ann could give me a ride to school to get my schedule and make any neccesary changes. I went to sign up for an appointment with the counselor, and Stacey (the office worker - I don't know what her title is) needed to know what SLC (Smaller Learning Community *gags*) I'm in, which she said would be on my schedule with the other woman. I went over there, and stood for five or so (patient) minutes while she talked with some guy about her daughter before she spent the minute it tooke to ask me what I needed and give me my schedule. I went back to Stacey's desk and ended up being 15th in line, which was estimated for 11:30. Turns out if I had told her I was in the IB advisory, I wouldn't have had to have told her what SLC I'm in. We're kinda SLC-less, thank goodness!
So, I went to visit Ms. Bierman and chatted with her for a bit. She is seriously one of the best teachers, if not the best teacher, I have ever had. We talked about her dog, who fully recovered from what was basically a walking stick through his hip; her poster of Stalin and what the 9th graders and their parents would think of it at the Open House; why I passed history last year (to make a long story short, the Grad Standards are in limbo, and she made a judgement call); my plans for next year; and other such things. Mr. Scarlett came in briefly to talk to Ms. Bierman and asked how my EE paper was going. I told him it was on hold until I finished 11th grade CAS.
I then went down to the libary to visit Ms. Yoder, our librarian, and found out that she had been moved to another position in the district, basically going around to the schools and showing stundents how to use the school's technology. I got to know the new librarian, Mrs. Knoll, and did a bunch of work for her. She's very nice. I loved Ms. Yoder, though. I hope I'll get another chance to see her...
Around noon or 12:30 I got called down to the office to work my schedule out with the counselor. I'm going to have my PSEO open period during 3rd period for the whole year (yea! the lunch period!). Unfortunately Computer Science IB is only offered during the only time Advanced Topics IB (math) is, so I signed up for Music IB 2nd semester. I'm gonna talk with Mr. Kunz and see if I can't do independent study Comp Sci, though. I'm pretty sure there were some kids who did that last year... I couldn't figure out what to do with my other two periods, so I decided, against my better judgement, to take the clichElanguage of French, also during second semester, mostly so I could communicate with my sister and boyfriend in French. Me in French I. They in College in the Schools (French V). Communicate? Hah! It'll be like "J'mapelle Nastassja. E tu?" "(insert long fast stream of garble here)" "Uh..."
So, let's see if I can pull some html out of my ass now...
Whee, and now to see if that table turned out! Oh, btw, I saw Alex Watchman at school today. Dude (and I NEVER say that), WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE GOING TO DENMARK FOR A YEAR?! Anyways, welcome backk.
