[DL] Kaerimashita yo!
Aug. 25th, 2003 09:01 amI have returned! First the compie had a wormie, which is now fixed (-sarcastically- yea, Microsoft!), and then I went off for vacation at what was supposed to be Glacier National Park in Montana, but because of the fires we ended up going to Caribou Highlands Lodge in Lutsen, MN. I had a great time, but I have definitely come to the conclusion that vacation should come at the beginning of the summer rather than the end. I much prefer an intensive (and healthy) de-stressing period followed by relaxation before a minor re-stressing, rather than relaxation, minor de-stressing countered by the major re-stressing of not being able to do the things neccesary and/or desired before school starts. CAS, Extended Essay, orientation (which I missed!), hanging out with friends, hanging out with boyfriends, etc. Vacation DEFINITELY belongs at the beginning of the summer.
Anyways, on Friday (the day before we went home), I ask this guy to throw a ball back into the pool for me. He says, "You're Nastassja, aren't you?" He was a friend of my mom and Roger's, and the father of my friend from Camp Ojibwe, Marla Branch! I went over to their cabin and hung out with Marla for about 3 hours. Hadn't talked to her for forever... It was so nice to reconnect.
You guys heard about the riptide by Canal Park in Duluth two Sundays ago? A bunch of people were pulled out about a half mile into Lake Superior, and one drowned. Marla's brother and sister got caught in that same riptide. Luckily, they were both fine. The one who died was a 2nd and 3rd place Paralympic swimmer. Imagine that... "Oh, hey Nastassja. I thought I recognized you. But, actually, I'm leaving in half an hour to go home to my brother and sister's funeral." Thank goodness they survived...
Anyways, I have more pre-school IB junk to work on.
To Nikko: Um... I didn't finish taking my notes before you needed Sixth back, so... I can still write the fic if you really want, but it won't be very convincing. Should I still?
And, Nikko, be nice to Tee-rin.
