[DL] wonderful year, part II
Jul. 10th, 2003 10:34 amI'm sitting in English right now. This class is SO easy! But I've learned to be happy with it. I think part of the reason is we're doing multiple choice online tests now, instead of the amazingly pointless questions from the book.
We read this story on the first day of class about an Indian chief whose wife had a dream where the great tree was uprooted. The chief said that it is their custom to make important dreams like that reality, so they uprooted the great tree. Now, the question: "If you had been the Great Chief, would you have pulled up the Great Tree? Explain your answer." Um... This decision was based on a culture that is not my own, so how am I supposed to approach this question? I mean, these questions are mind numbing.
*conscience whispers: "Or maybe you're just not used to these kinds of questions. Don't be so proud..."*
But whatever. It's much better now, and I have a lot of free time.
Anyways, anniversary...
Patrick picked me up after school (albeit a bit late - he and of friend in the area went out for breakfast) and after dropping aforementioned girl whose name is Jen off at her house, we went to his dad's house. His dad is in California. ^_^
After picking up Joe at Sibley we went to Great Moon Buffet with his co-workers at one (it was originally supposed to be at noon, but whatever). Patrick lost his ATM card, so finding the money to pay for me was interesting. (Pat and Joe were already paid for.) I ate WAY too much. Demo oishii desu. =P
After lunch we went back to Pat's house for a bit before returning to his mom's for dinner. We then went home to get the key for my pet-sitting job, and went to pet-sit, and after getting quite lost we returned to my house. I wasn't late at all. ^_^;
Class is over. I'll write when I get home.
