incoherent school-related ramblings
Dec. 10th, 2010 12:02 amSo, had my last calc exam before the final today, and turned out I wasn't under-reacting to the exam - it turned out to be refreshingly easy. Yet also extremely frustrating, especially after the fact. Like, I knew all the material quite well, with the exception of having spent around 20 minutes (including one bathroom trip) pondering how to integrate sin(x)+(sin(x))^2. However, my brain just would. Not. Work. Like, we started the test around 7, maybe a bit earlier, and he made the last two of us wrap it up around 9:50. Really I should have been done by 9 and had time to look it all over, but I kept getting weird answers that I couldn't figure out where I had gone wrong, or I obsessed over the equations I was setting up for translation of axes thinking I was messing something up (and I'm 90% sure I got the foci for the ellipse in that problem wrong, as when I approximated my answers they were outside of the vertices. Anyways, long story short is I was rushing like a mad-woman during the last half-hour, know I got at least part of one problem wrong, and could very easily have made a *ton* of stupid mistakes that I never got to correct. I still think I easily got over the 82% that's my goal between that test and the final to get a B in the class overall (after the third test I was guaranteed to not get an A), but the better I do on this test the less I have to worry about the final, so... Yeah.
Accounting quiz due Saturday at midnight, work Sunday and Monday nights, stats cumulative final on Tuesday (last take-home quiz also due), unit exam in accounting which I'm not worried abotu two hours after that, then cumulative final in accounting on Thursday. CIS open-book cumulative final somewhere in there - don't know when or even how much of my grade it's worth, but I'll probably end up doing it without having read 75% of the textbook. Then work Friday, and up to Chicago with Mike on Saturday to see a Klingon Christmas Carol, and back Monday afternoon for more work.
Also, the 4-year school situation continues to be in extreme flux. Right now it's looking like I'll be able to graduate from Crookston but will probably have to pay for one semester out of pocket, but I'm still working out the details. Might take 10 credits at Parkland this semester and 5 at Crookston, dunno about the exact financial aid situation if I do that (and trying to figure out my SAP appeals while not seeming like I'm trying to apply for financial aid at two institutions is quite frustrating); might take all my classes at Crookston from now on; may leave the 10 credits that will transfer from Parkland to Crookston until my last semester when I won't receive financial aid since apparently I only need to take "15 of my last 30 credits" from Croookston... So much confusing.
Anyways, that's enough of my run-on sentences and general rambling. Gonna just... relax. Probably going to bed in short order. No work or school or homework to turn in tomorrow! (Well, no Walgreens work, anyway.)
EDIT: tsukikage: I'm exhaused but I don't want to go to bed...
