This speech is turning out a bit harder than expected. I have to give a 5-7 minute persuasive speech trying to convince someone of where they should travel if they could go anywhere in the world. My two main thoughts were Germany or Japan, since I've actually been both places, and well... isn't my topic obvious? Besides, I have actual pictures of my own from Japan, which would provide a personal touch. We also need to cover the "expense, culture, language, public transportation, history, money, and food" of the place. Problem is... I have no idea yet how I'm going to approach it as being a persuasive speech rather than an informative one. I guess the key here, as usual, is to try not to care too much. It doesn't actually matter if I have good reasons for why they should pick that place above all others - I just need to fit it into the mold of a persuasive speech and be done with it so I can hopefully get an A in the class and keep my 4.0.

Seriously, though, my perspective of things is so damn skewed. Any ideas on why a non-weaboo would want to visit Japan? All I can come up with are things like watching a real tea ceremony, eating authentic Japanese food (real ramen!), going to a summer festival... But why would non-weaboo Americans give a shit about that stuff when they could go to, say, Paris? I can tell you what a ryokan is and how much it'll cost, but why do you want to spend a night in one?
