Lavenderberry Bath (OW!)
Jul. 16th, 2010 01:49 pmSo, my teas arrived yesterday, and after brewing a fresh batch of mugicha, I made a single cup of one of the new teas I'm trying (of which I ordered only 2 oz.). This one is called Lavenderberry, and is described as "A sweet, full-bodied, and smooth blend of rooibos, vanilla, lavender, and natural strawberry flavor. Very aromatic and calming."
And I have to say, I did a good job of picking a flavored tea I wouldn't hate. I was a little worried about the vanilla or strawberry being overpowering, but the lavender is definitely the most pronounced flavor in it. I can just barely make out the strawberry when it first hits my tongue, but that quickly fades leaving the lavender and rooibos. (Which reminds me, I want to try a bit of straight-up rooibos to make sure I'm identifying it correctly, but I think it's vaguely sour...) It's indeed quite calming - almost like putting one of those lavender pillows on your eyes. In any case, I'm very happy with that particular purchase. ^_^
(The also sent me a sample of some green tea with cherry - I'll try it, but I might end up trying to find someone to push it on to, since I generally hate cherry.)
Thought I was working at 4 today, but after checking my planner (and calling my manager to verify) it turns out I have the day off. I'm going to make a batch of the scones I ordered (...my blueberry scones... :() and work on my persuasive speech that's due on the 28th. Although I'm lucky enough to have 88.9% in the class right now, I was excruciatingly unprepared for the last two speeches (as in, didn't give myself enough time to practice them even once despite having to give them using only a key word/phrase outline and being requested to never actually *write* the speech beyond a full-sentence outline). I actually got 80% on last week's speech which was worth 18% of my grade. So, yeah... Even if I'm miraculously managing to stay afloat in this class, I can't have the same thing happen again, if only to bandage what's left of my pride.
Oh, I should mention, when I got home from Elizabeth's this morning the birds were screaming and I was wondering what had them so riled up. Mary mentioned that she had seen some kind of animal by the fireplace but that all the animals were accounted for, so I wondered if maybe there was a bat hiding in the chimney or something. But when I saw Ralph (or was it Coal?) stalking around the area I decided to take a closer look, and I found one of the cockatiels (I think it was Tali) on the ground. For some reason I looked to her and Remy's cages, and saw *both* of their cage doors open, but luckily Remy was still in his cage. Anyways, after calling Dianne for advice on how to get her back in her cage I finally did manage to safely (? - she did end up conking her head on a lamp...) return her, but that was quite an adventure.
[EDIT: Dear LiveJournal: Stop telling me that you're requiring that I connect with Facebook. Because you don't. And I don't want to. So shoo.]
