"angst" doesn't really mean much...
Jul. 5th, 2010 12:25 amYou know, after a brief bit of thinking, I'm realizing I can at least try to describe what I liked about the ending of the first FMA other than "it had angst" or whatever... It was bittersweet. Life doesn't have "happy endings", it has mixed-bag endings. So despite the alchemy and alternate worlds, the ending of the first series spoke to me as being a bit more real. Or else I'm just full of shit. Probably the latter.
Realistic icon is realistic. Or not. ^_^;
P.S. Trying to figure out why I never really got into Ed/Winry. Or really any FMA ships. Stumped.
[ETA: From
goldfishlover73, talking about the new FMA movie:
Well, you see, I know Arakawa-sensei and she told me.
There is one, last FINAL chapter of FMA, that will only be released once the actual final manga comes out.
The truth is, the first anime is CANON.
In the movie, Edward will wake up and realize that everything from the manga was a dream, and he'll wake up in Nazi Germany, with all the gypsies.
Talk about a plot twist.]
