Alright, I'm totally cool with blonde-haired, blue-eyed Japanese is anime. I mean, it comes with the blue-haired, pink-eyed turf, right?
But to have a series set in Brazil, where pretty much all the Brazillians have very tan skin, black hair, and black eyes, and then the Brazillian of Japanese descent has blond hair?
Seriously, Japan? It's almost as bad as how Japanese characters all look generic, but Westerners all look exaggeratedly Western, and only Chinese and Koreans have darker skin and slanted eyes. (I'm looking at you, Hikaru no Go!)

[EDIT: Alright, so maybe there are more non-Latin characters in this series than I was remembering, but it still seems like people's hair and eye color is supposed to represent their ancestry.]

[EDIT 2: I suppose he could be named after his Japanese great-grandfather, and the rest of his family is European?]
