The good news: Elizabeth moved her bed out of her old bedroom and into her apartment, and I was able to clear my bedroom of all contents that don't belong to me, with the exception of furniture and the contents of one particular chest of drawers. My closet is so open now! I'll be vacuuming and moping the entire floor tomorrow or, more likely, Thursday.
The bad news is that she moved the TV from the basement, will be moving my desk next week, and may or may not be moving my bookshelf. As I mentioned in a previous entry, I already have plans to buy a small new TV, and there are also a couple of media shelves I have my eye on at work (I haven't really picked which ones will be best yet, though - this is the one I've been leaning towards, since it's stackable and I get a nice price on it; all the really nice ones are available online-only, meaning I can't get a discount). I don't know what I'm going to do about a homework space, though. I don't do homework well in bed or in a chair. When I really get to the grind I need a desk, and with my bed being as big as it is a full-size desk wouldn't be practical as it would also require a chair. Not to mention as long as this second chest of drawers is here, which could very well be as long as I live here, I suspect I'd have to pick between having all my media on shelves and having even a low desk like the one I have now. In the end I may end up trying to make some sort of work space for myself in the basement, which would work because it would be where the TV isn't (assuming I go ahead and have the TV in my room).
I dunno... I'll solve these problems in time. Focus first on cleaning my room, then on re-organizing the basement room now that it's all mine. Maybe it'll be like a sculptor finding the perfect statue through the process of simply whittling away at the wood? Besides, there's no sense buying bookshelves or desks or whatever until I have the money for it, and I'm sure I'll survive just fine in the mean time. After all, nothing like a clean room to lift one's spirits. :)

[EDIT: I'm probably going to be the only person to get my first bed of my own, for my very own apartment, and have that bed be a twin. Although the weaboo in me would probably prefer a Japanese-style futon. A loft bed wouldn't be bad either. God, my apartment's going to be a dorm room!]

I seriously love loft beds. I would totally get one if I were living on my own and hadn't already bought an insanely big bed ;) They're so... efficient! And high!

Beds are better than futons. You can't stash shit under your futon, you know?

Yeah, but I could just sleep in the daytime walking space.
